A car flag is the only flag product where the mounting surface moves. That single fact drives every specification decision: which mount, how large the flag can be, how many sets are needed per vehicle, and what has to be settled before a fleet order goes into production.
Why Vehicle Flags Are Specified Differently
A pole set in the ground meets wind from one direction. A flag on a vehicle meets air from ahead, from the side, and — when the vehicle reverses or sits in crosswind — from behind. The mount has to hold under all of it while attached to a surface the owner cares about: glass, paint or trim.
Three consequences shape the specification:
- The mount, not the flag, is the limiting part. Flag area is decided by what the mount can hold.
- Surface protection is a purchasing criterion, not a detail to sort out later.
- The set is made to order. Vehicle flags are printed with your identity, so production follows artwork approval rather than a stock pick.
Three Mounting Methods

Window clamp. The clamp grips the glass edge itself, so it suits vehicles whose panels are not magnetic — aluminium and composite bodies, for example. It is the format used for the standard 30 × 45 cm window flag, and it works on the single-layer automotive glass used on standard passenger-vehicle side windows.
Magnetic base. A magnet needs ferrous steel, so this format applies only where the contact surface is steel. The magnetic car flag is supplied at 14 × 21 cm, sized to stay within what the base holds comfortably. It is designed for normal road use including highway driving, and it does not need to be re-seated after rain.
Pole set. A pole on a fixed bracket position suits programmes that repeat: the same position has to be found on every vehicle, and the fitting has to be identical each time. This is also the only component we hold in stock; the complete printed set is produced to order.
What the Vehicle Changes
Three checks decide which format is viable:
- Panel material. Steel accepts magnetic bases. Aluminium, plastic and composite panels do not.
- Glass geometry. Window clamps hold the glass, so the clamp has to suit the window and its lining has to protect tint film and trim.
- Surface shape. A base designed for a flat panel behaves differently on a curved one: contact area drops and the fitting leans on the clamp rather than on adhesion.
For fleets, add one more: standardise the mounting position. A consistent position across a fleet reads as deliberate; a mixed one reads as improvised.
Choosing Flag Size
Two standard sizes cover most orders:

Custom sizes are possible for both formats. The practical limit is set by the mount and by wind load: a larger flag is seen sooner but loads the fitting more, and every increase in area multiplies the force at speed.
Two rules we work to:
- Size the flag to the mount, not to the largest flag the customer likes.
- Use pairs where the design is symmetrical — one flag can read as a defect rather than a decision.
Fleet, Dealer and Event Orders: What to Prepare
- Vehicle list — make, model and the surface available for mounting on each.
- Position map — front-left, front-right, rear or window; a photo of a fitted example is the fastest way to confirm it.
- Artwork per set — confirm whether one design covers every vehicle or each carries its own branding.
- Quantity arithmetic — vehicles × positions × spares. This is the number that determines the production run.
- Use duration — a weekend campaign and a permanent dealer programme justify different mounts.
Packing and Handling
- Window flags are packed individually in OPP bags.
- Magnetic and pole sets are boxed.
